Avalir 2 Vacuum by Kirby
The Buy Me Once Verdict
The vacuum that outlives its owners. A die-cast aluminium body, a motor built for decades, and a factory rebuild programme that returns a 30-year-old machine to new condition. Hand-built in Ohio, Tennessee and Texas, and 1950s Kirbys are still in daily use.
Why it lasts: every part that kills an ordinary vacuum is cast metal here, and Kirby still stocks parts for machines made before most of us were born.
Guarantee: 3 years on new machines, plus the rebuild programme. Sold only through in-home distributors; a refurbished one from a dealer is the bargain. We earn nothing from this link and list it anyway.
