How Buy Me Once makes money (affiliate disclosure)
Short version: we no longer ship products in the US. Instead, we point you to where the things we recommend are sold. Some of those links are affiliate links, which means that if you click through and buy, Buy Me Once earns a small commission at no extra cost to you.
What that means in practice
- Our recommendations come first. Every product on this site was chosen because we judged it to last. Nothing is listed because of the commission it pays, and a product does not get a better write-up because it earns more.
- Prices and stock live on the retailer's site. We deliberately do not show prices here, because they change daily and we would rather you saw today's real price at the retailer than an out-of-date one from us.
- Amazon: Buy Me Once is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
- Other retailers and brands: where we link directly to a brand's own store, we may be enrolled in that brand's affiliate programme. Where we are not, the link is simply the best place we know to buy it.
- The Longevity Awards are judged independently. Whether a winner's retailer pays commission has no bearing on who wins. The judging method is published on the awards pages.
Why we do it this way
Buy Me Once began as a research project: finding the products that last a lifetime so you buy less and waste less. Running a US warehouse and shipping operation stopped making sense for a small UK company, but the research did not stop. Affiliate links let us keep publishing it for US readers.
