The Higgins Mill has a 360-degree Goodyear welt over a cork bed that molds to your foot, in Horween Chromexcel leather. Allen Edmonds runs its own recrafting service in Port Washington, Wisconsin: $150 gets you new soles, new welts, fresh cork and refinished uppers in four to six weeks.
The weakest link it solves: Dress footwear's usual fate: a worn sole on a shoe nobody can resole. This one goes back to the factory.
