5200 Blender by Vitamix
The Buy Me Once Verdict
The blender that started the buy-it-for-life conversation. A 2-horsepower motor, a 64-ounce container and a drive socket that is designed to wear and sold as a cheap spare with its own Allen key, so the part that kills most blenders is a five-minute fix on this one.
Why it lasts: the drive coupling and the blade bearing, the two things that end a blender, are both stocked consumer parts, and Vitamix will repair the machine for a fee long after the warranty ends.
Guarantee: Vitamix's 7-year full warranty covers parts, performance and labour, including shipping both ways. Assembled in Cleveland, Ohio.
