Duralex

Duralex has made tempered glass tableware in France since 1945, and the stackable Picardie and Gigogne tumblers found in cafes and school canteens across the country are the same ones you can buy today. Tempering makes the glass roughly two and a half times stronger than ordinary glass and resistant to thermal shock, so it goes from freezer to dishwasher to hot tea without complaint. If it does break, it shatters into small blunt pieces rather than shards.
